Retire Here, Not There... Smart Money names Oberlin an Affordable Ohio Retirement Destination
Smart Money, a web site produced by The Wall Street Journal, ran a series of articles about locations in a number of states that are "less-known gems" with lower costs of living and "peppy economies." Oberlin was one of 4 Ohio towns mentioned.
What makes Oberlin special? The article cited Oberlin College, with its wide range of cultural and educational opportunities, as one of the key considerations. "To understand the vibe in this city, one must first look at Oberlin College." The article highlights the city's "green" initiatives, stating that Oberlin is the ideal spot for "the Progressive Envirnmentalist."
Culture is another big draw, with the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Allen Memorial Art Museum, a number of delightful galleries and artsy shops. Proximity to Cleveland - only 45 minutes away - offers even more art and music to enjoy.
Kendal at Oberlin resident Anne Elder was interviewed for the story, sharing why she and her husband chose to move to Oberlin over a number of other locations. Click here to read the entire article. The Oberlin story is on page 3. It illustrates a number of reasons why people have moved to Kendal at Oberlin, coming from 32 different states and the District of Columbia.
We invite you to visit our vibrant retirement living community and the charming town that we happily call home. To arrange a visit, please call the admissions office at 1-800-548-9469, or email to email@example.com.
Interesting note: Another location named in the "Retire Here, Not There" series is Tarrytown, New York - home to another Kendal affiliate, Kendal on Hudson.
