The

is Active Learning - direct, hands-on experiences with
people, objects, events, and ideas which encourage
- physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- the ability to communicate feelings and ideas, while encouraging
positive interactions.
- the ability to make appropriate choices and understand the
consequences of decisions.
- the ability to set goals and strive to complete them.
Daily experiences are
focused on the interests of the children in the areas of art,
music, movement, literacy, math, science, time, spacial relations,
social skills and dramatic play.

Intergenerational
Program
The Kendal Resident
Community is a vital part of our center. Intergenerational expereiences
are planned weekly with Kendal's Creative Arts Therapy Department.
More spontaneous and frequent interactions occur during the day
throughout the community. Residents often volunteer in the classrooms,
enriching our daily program. The children develop an appreciation
for the relationships they make with loving older adults, as
well as a better understanding of the aging process.
