January 21, 2020 —Children from the Kendal Early Learning Center present 20th anniversary wishes for their many friends at Kendal at Oberlin. The preschool has been part of Kendal’s history from its beginning. Intergenerational opportunities benefit both the children and their many “grand friends” that live in the retirement community.
“Carp”e Diem / Seize the Day
Donna, a resident of Kendal at Oberlin, helped the children celebrate Children’s Kite Day. Each child made a paper fish, with a special “wish” printed on it and each decorated by the children. These were then hung together – on a fishing pole of course – and presented to Kendal CEO, Barbara Thomas. The joyful wishes are in honor of Kendal’s 20th Anniversary and they are as follows:
- Contented
- Love
- Sunny Day
- Silly
- Play
- Rainbows
- Happy
- Swimming
- Jumping
- Hugging
- Together
- Pretend
- Flying
- Splashing
- Racing
- Kissing
- Health
- Friendship
- Faith
- Dedication
- Patience
- Family
- Fun
Barbara shared some comments about the gift from the children:
“Wonderful… What a great idea. I loved hearing the insights our children (and staff) have for their quality of life.
P.S. I think we should spring for a 2nd box of legos in the next budget.”
