Kendal at Oberlin is committed to social responsibility, providing leadership in the greater community. Kendal staff, residents and board members continue to volunteer in many different ways. More than 20 area families use Kendal’s accredited 5-Star Early Learning Program for toddlers to pre-kindergarten children. Community outreach efforts have impacted regional students, dementia support programs and public education efforts for people of all ages.

Volunteerism
We can achieve more by working together in partnership. Collectively, Kendal residents, staff and Board of Directors volunteered over 63,490 of recorded hours of service in 2023, at more than 80 different nonprofit organizations in Lorain County and beyond.

Education and Training:
Local students from nursing, rehabilitation and vocational schools are once again receiving clinical training at Kendal to prepare them professionally.
Sharing Resources:
While limited during the pandemic, Kendal at Oberlin is happy to once again share its gathering spaces meetings of local nonprofit organizations. The community is also a polling place for elections.
