We are a nonprofit life plan community that offers a wellness-focused, resident-led lifestyle for independent living. When needed, Kendal’s Stephens Care Center provides person-centered care for memory support, assisted living and nursing care.
Welcome to Kendal at Oberlin
Kendal at Oberlin, a life plan community (also referred to as a Continuing Care Retirement Community), has been providing services to residents since 1993. Living in our nonprofit life plan community ensures a wellness-focused, resident-led lifestyle for independent living. When needed, Kendal’s Stephens Care Center provides person-centered care for memory support, assisted living and nursing care. This means residents can move between levels of care as their needs change without having to relocate.
Over the years, the community has welcomed residents from 39 different states, making it a destination for vibrant senior living. If the idea of active retirement in a small college town is appealing to you, then our community has so much to offer.
Kendal at Oberlin is accredited by CARF, meeting over 1,900 standards for quality, including exemplary conformance for financial ratios. Kendal at Oberlin has also received an A+ financial rating from Fitch for the organization. Fitch rates over 150 life plan communities nationwide. Kendal at Oberlin is now one of only three to achieve the A+ rating.

Choosing the right care for yourself or a loved one is one of life’s most meaningful decisions. At Kendal at Oberlin’s Stephens Care Center, we offer a warm, person-centered environment where residents can thrive with dignity, choice and connection.
We provide a range of care services, including assisted living, memory support, long-term care, respite stays and short-term rehabilitation for residents and direct admissions, all within a welcoming life plan community.
