We are a vibrant life plan community, located in northeast Ohio, just one mile from Oberlin College and less than 30 miles from the Cleveland international airport. Kendal at Oberlin is a community where older adults can thrive and grow.
We are a nonprofit life plan community that offers a wellness-focused, resident-led lifestyle for independent living. When needed, Kendal’s Stephens Care Center provides person-centered care for memory support, assisted living and nursing care.

Barbara Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, and Kendal residents describe some of the features that make it a unique retirement living destination. People have moved to this community in the vibrant college town of Oberlin from 36 different states.
Kendal at Oberlin, a Life Plan Community (also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community) has been providing services to Residents since 1993. Kendal at Oberlin is accredited by CARF and has been identified as a 5-Star Rated Nursing Home by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Kendal at Oberlin is also pleased to announce that Fitch Ratings has assigned an A+ rating for the organization. Fitch rates over 150 life plan communities nationwide. Kendal at Oberlin is now one of only three to achieve the A+ rating.
