We would like to invite you to join us for a discussion about the Kendal at Oberlin Strategic Plan. The community is going through a year-long process to develop our next five-year plan (2027 – 2031).
We invite all Priority Members to participate in a Focus Group session on Monday, June 15th. We will hold two sessions to accommodate folks in different time zones – one at 10:00am EST and one at 3pm EST (both via zoom). We are looking forward to this opportunity to hear from future residents as we embark on this important strategic planning process.
To prepare for this session, the KAO Strategic Planning Committee has prepared three pre-read materials:
- Think Piece: Trends, Issues, and Opportunities This document provides an overview of industry and environmental trends
- Strengths, Challenges, Opportunities, Threats (SCOT) This SCOT framework was developed in consultation with board, staff, and KORA leadership in January as a way to outline KAO’s strategic positioning.
- Olivia Mastry Video: ‘Positioning for the Future Using Strategic Foresight’ An optional 30-minute video that provides a futuristic look at emerging trends in the senior living and healthcare landscape. Please click on the link to view the video.
Additionally, the following discussion questions will be reviewed at the meeting:
- What opportunities does Kendal have in front of it for the next 5 years? Where should Kendal be in 2030 in the areas of technology, sustainability, innovation, other?
- What elements of the resident experience are important to priority members and how are priority member needs similar and/or different to current KAO residents? Area to explore include wellness/health services, community life, dining, transportation, resident services?
- How should Kendal think about evolution of our traditional model? Where is there opportunity to advance and grow?
