Work Anniversaries Recognized at Kendal at Oberlin

Each year, Kendal at Oberlin celebrates staff who have reached milestones in terms of years working at Kendal. In 2024, eighteen staff members were recognized for having reached 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service to the community.

Congratulations to Kendal at Oberlin Staff Members who celebrated milestone anniversaries on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

CEO Seth Vilensky opened the program and shared some numbers. In this year’s group, there is a collective 245 years of serving the Kendal at Oberlin community. This was the first year for Seth to emcee this program, noting that he just recently passed 245 days himself. Gratitude to the staff was shared by Joan Villarreal on behalf of the Board of Directors, and by Prudy Hall on behalf of the Kendal at Oberlin Residents Association (KORA). The auditorium was full and there was plenty of applause for everyone recognized. And it was much-deserved.

Celebrated staff members had a special lunch together and the whole community was treated to cassata cake to mark the occasion. Listed below are the staff and their departments

As each person was called to the front of the stage to be congratulated by their supervisor, Seth read some favorite things that staff members had shared about their work at Kendal. We heard about commitment to residents, commitment to fellow staff, professional growth and friendships. There were memories mostly good, and a few that made everyone laugh, like a staff member who has “stayed at Kendal for 25 years because it’s like one big dysfunctional family.” Clearly, it’s a family she holds dear.

Congratulations everyone, and much gratitude for your many years of service!
