Kendal at Oberlin Names a New Director of Nursing

Kim Leek is Promoted

Kim Leek - Director of NursingKendal at Oberlin is pleased to announce that Kim Leek, who has been most recently serving as the community’s Interim Director of Nursing, has accepted and been promoted to the position of Director of Nursing for the Stephens Care Center (SCC). Kim has been a nurse in the field of caring for older adults for over 23 years and has been with Kendal at Oberlin since 2014.

She began her career with Kendal as an RN Clinical Educator and obtained her master’s in nursing in 2019. Kim earned certification as an Infection Preventionist in 2020, serving the entire community in this critical role through the COVID-19 pandemic. She was named Assistant Director of Nursing for the Stephens Care Center in 2021.

The SCC staff members and residents are pleased that the new Director of Nursing is one of Kendal’s finest “homegrown tomatoes.” Kim has already been hard at work setting up plans for improved communications with clinical teams and partnering with the interdisciplinary team on quality initiatives, as well as resident and staff satisfaction.
